Got something like that planned for 2010.

I plan to fly into somewhere northeast in US from Europe, buy a bike, refurbish it a little and then get on the road: Detroit - Chicago - part of Route 66 - Seattle - Alaska - San Francisco - Los Angeles - San Diego - Las Vegas - Texas - New Orleans - Miami - The Keys - Northeast Cities. I plan on taking at least two months to see as much as I can.
