First all female African American flight crew makes history
I love good news from the aviation world - it really does bring a smile to my face amongst all the doom and gloom stories out there.A good example of something great comes from regional carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines. For the first time in history, a domestic US flight was staffed by an all female African American flight crew.
The 4 - Captain Rachelle Jones, First Officer Stephanie Grant, and flight attendants Diana Galloway and Robin Rogers probably did not know that they were about to make history when they boarded their flight from Atlanta to Nashville.
When the crew realized the importance of their flight, they were naturally quite excited, and captain Jones said " this could be a first, so let's be on our P's and Q's".
ASA President Brad Holt issued the following statement: "Not only are these women gifted in their professions, but they set examples for young people across the country that with hard work, passion and determination, the sky is the limit."
Atlantic Southeast Airlines has a special contact page, where you can leave your own message of congratulations to the crew of flight 5202.

Good grief! Grow up people, a few fun facts for you.
All female aircrews have been around since World War II. Operational pilots for the Red Air Force, WASPs ferrying aircraft for the USAAF.
Oh yes, the first all male flight crew was a guy named Wright, back in December of 1903.

This whole thing about being "American" is mis-diagnosed. The term "american" refers to every single country in the "americas". Yes that means North, South and even Central. Canada, The United States of America, Mexico, Belize, Guatamala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Chilie, Paraguay, the three countries next to Venezuela that I cant remember what they are called and any other countries that I may have forgottenThe Point is, We Are All One Race, The HUMAN RACE. All brothers and sisters and it does not matter where you are from. With all the trouble that is going on in the world, we should unite and come together as ONE!

How is it that a flight crew with black women flying for the first time and making history goes into some ignorant comments on black folks? I swear AOL is really going down in the gutter with its lacking of moderators on these message boards.
Anyway that accomplishment is seriously kick *** and I am glad to read about it!!!!

The racism on this thread. I would say unbelievable-but it really is not. Just goes to show how far we have not gone.
This was not discriminate against whites-the FO was put on due to a sick call.
Some black females actually put in hard work, rise up the ranks, and are rewarded for it, and white folks still get upset.
I say congrats ladies!
The only thing that upsets me about this is that the Captain turned me down for a date a few years back.
