I did the Inca Trail this past June. It is definitely the trek of a lifetime. Besides Machu Picchu, you stop by other Inca ruins along the way. I've never camped before, so my virgin wilderness camping trip was on the Inca Trail. I used the Selk sleeping bag suit, I think Gadling reviewed it, and I got some laughs and smiles from my fellow trekkers and porters.
if anyone needs a recommendation for a tour company for the Inca Trail, I would recommend Llama Path. They treat their porters really well providing them w/clothes, shoes, and pay more than other companies who take advantage of their porters.
But this a definite must do if you have the time!
