Another passenger pulled off plane after booze fueled fight
And here we go again - once again, a passenger decided that being cut off from drinking more booze was not such a good idea, and decided to start a fight.Russel Krebs, a 6'3" 200 pound passenger was on his way to Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International airport on a Comair flight when the crew decided that he'd had enough to drink. At that point the real trouble started.
An off-duty pilot and one of the flight attendants were able to get him in plastic cuffs until the plane landed. Normally a situation like this would mean the cops wait until the plane is at the gate, but in this case, they actually met the plane on the runway to remove Krebs.
I'm not sure how stupid one has to be to start a fight in an aircraft cabin, especially with the knowledge that you may be on the same flight as a federal air marshal.
Krebs is currently locked away, and the FBI is investigating whether to press federal chargers. In that case, a few drinks and a couple of punches could mean he'll be locked away for a pretty long time. Of course, things don't get easier for him since the police discovered "a controlled substance" which will only add to the charges.

Real brain surgeon..state and/or Federal charges, on Homeland Security list, probably lost job or business, given the iron bar time. Forget ever flying commercial again, and it goes on and on.

How much responsibility does the airline hold? I cant count the times when flying a passenger is visibly intoxicated ,yet he is served more drinks by the stewardess?????????
Z Feb 23rd 2009 8:33PM
Why do they even serve alcohol. Is it a plane or a bar. They expect drunk people to act normal. Just should have gave him all the booze he wanted and carried him off in an ambulance ecnalubma.
Don Feb 23rd 2009 9:04PM
Z has it right. I like to drink, and I like to fly. No good reason I have to do both at the same time. With all this new homeland security who is more dangerous? A 5'3" granny with knitting needles, or a 6'3" angry drunk guy?
Mellie Feb 23rd 2009 9:28PM
The difference is that the 5'3" granny would not be allowed to take her knitting needles on the plane.
Don Feb 23rd 2009 9:49PM
Mellie,
You never met my granny. She would knock out anyone who tried to take them from her. Then she would go over and flirt with the drunk guy. When the flight was over he would find himself in a straight jacket which she had knitted, especially for him.
Georgesmom Feb 24th 2009 3:49PM
To Millie,
I've got news for you. She would most certainly be able to take those knitting needles on the plane. They are allowed under TSA rules. Go look it up.

My wife and I fly all the time and I have never seen any thing like this. I have an artificial knee that beeps when I go through security. And when security shakes me down ,they are always professional and courteous. But there is always that one jerk.

If alcohol is not going to be banned from flights, airlines should at least instate a one or two drink maximum on flights. If people are visibly intoxicated, they should be prevented from boarding the plane. There should be no exceptions. Drunk, angry, aggressive people are a threat to other passenger's safety.

Hell NO!
Flying has become such a pain in the arse experience - because of security checks (I wear a leg brace and it's a MoFo to get on and off), lousy on board service, take off delays/cancellations, crowded seating conditions (unless you're in 1st or Business Class) - that I need all the alcohol sedation I can get!
This guy was a jerk and deserves everything that happened and will happen to him. But please don't get all AA/Prohibition/Temperance League self righteous on the rest of us, poor, flying bastards, that have to be on a 3 to 5 hour flight - in a middle seat - with a sleeping, wheezing, coughing, old geezer sitting on my right (who occasionally lets loose with audible farts, composed of the gaseous remnants of his previous night's, bratwurst and sauerkraut dinner, at St. Alphonso's Church of the Holy Denial). In the seat on my left, sits some NAY (New Age Yuppette), trying to deal/comfort/kill her wailing child, who can't figure out how to equalize the pressure in it's ear drums (because of the change in air pressure in the cabin). During all the wailing from the child and verbal exclamations of frustration from the NYA, she chooses to tell me her vapid and pathetically insipid, life story...
You're complaining about more than TWO DRINKS?!?!
HELL TO THAT!! Have the BLEEPING Flight Attendant bring me a morphine drip!
(And give one to that BLEEPING wailing kid, too.)

first of all, as a flight attendant for a major airline. it seems that this moron was already drunk when he boarded the aircraft. f.a.r. (federal air regulations) 121.575 specifically state, passengers "who appear to be intoxicated, should not be allowed to board. it's obvious to me that f.a.r. was not followed. i, personally have had two drunk morons removed from my flights in 31 years of flying. most passengers are good with their alcohol. BUT there are always a few exceptions to the rule. just make sure you don't board drunks......that'll help immensely!
bob Feb 23rd 2009 9:50PM
Put him in jail and throw away the key
Jim Feb 23rd 2009 10:27PM
Uh, I don't think this guy weighs in at 200 pounds. I'm 6 feet tall, 195 lbs, and I'm a normal looking guy with a slim build and my face doesn't look even remotely as fat as this guy's picture. With him being 6' 3" and his face that fat, this guy is probably closer to 300 lbs, not 200.

Krebs is the name-------------MAYNARD G. KREBS. Another loser trying to go thru life, fat, drunk and stupid.
Ski Feb 23rd 2009 10:55PM
This guys life as he knows it is over. He can't fly anymore. Try taking a vacation in Hawaii or New Zealand or Australia
sperrymkt Feb 23rd 2009 11:02PM
Those who trade their freedom for security (safety) get neither! You cowardly whimps! Whatever happened to America??? Where did it go???
I'll never fly again through this stupid airport security for the cowardly.
pam Feb 24th 2009 1:59AM
Why not simply stop serving alcohol on planes. No one needs to drink. If they have a fear of flying let them get a doctor's prescription for the flight. As for this idiot. How did he get an illegal substance on the flight? He's beyond stupid. Throw the book at him and anyone else who pulls the same stunt. It puts all the other passengers in jeopardy.
Dan Feb 24th 2009 3:10AM
Breathalizer... then metal detectors, then the junkie dog sniffing you before patting down to check in for a flight. Oh I can see the future now.
If you can't handle the Bourbon.. or whatever it is jungle piss that you are drinking.. then don't drink. If you must, then place it where it belongs (In the stomach not into your head)
I love morphine.
Dan Feb 23rd 2009 11:49PM
You want me to fly? Then enforce the carry-on rule, stop serving alcohol, charge for two seats when people take up two seats, and lock all the seats in the upright position. I have been miserable on too many flights to ever think of flying as anything but a last resort. Why pay to be treated less than human. My money in this economy goes to my personal comfort.
Halina Feb 24th 2009 12:08AM
Another moron of a man boozing it up who is from the planet earth that thinks he should fly, too.
