TOP OF THE LIST
The Quody Hotel in Peoria, Illinois. The hotel has no working telephone in it. We (an ambulance crew) went there to take an elderly, sick parton to the hospital. The place was filthy, dirty and old junk in the hallway.
Several months later we were asked to investigate an "odd smell" in a patron's room. The same junk and trash was still in the hallway. The "patron" had been dead for days (weeks?) and was laying in a pool of leaking body fluids on a plastic covered mattress. I can not describe the smell. Actually, I could but then you'd vomit on your keyboard. Hey, they did have afforable rates and a vacancy.
