You get what you pay for. So, just remember that when you decide to stay at an "economy" hotel/motel to save a few dollars. I operate a Marriott property and they have extremely high standards and regularly inspect to ensure those standards are being upheld. The bedding, including the blanket, is changed/washed between each guest. The room is inspected prior to being listed as "vacant ready" in the system - and we use black lights (not on every room, but enough to spot check each room attendant) to ensure traces of past guests have been erased.
