Our cruise ended in Puerto Rico and we found flights home cancelled due to weather.
After many phone calls found a Westin resort on the other side of the Island that had a room for $200/night. No choice but to take it.
The taxi ride cost $45. Upon arrival they told me all that was available was a suite. OK.
Entered the room and the bellhop locked all the bedroom doors and unfolded a sofa bed. I asked if he was joking and he said no. We slept on a sofa that had a 2' thick mattress and a blanket with holes in it. The manager said it was a take it or leave it offer.
The next morning the Resort shuttle carried us back to the airport for a $50 additional charge.
I had photographed the conditions and sent a registered letter of complaint to Westin HQ.
In return I received a form letter relling me of the perks and comforts of staying at the Puerto Rico Westin Resort.
Go figure.
