As a pretty devout and committed Nikon user, I actually gasped when I read your post. This is a CRAZY good deal, particularly for someone who is just starting out in SLR photography (read: using a camera where you can switch out lenses). As for the "only 6.1" megapixels, don't let that fool you: unless you're planning on printing your photos larger than, say, 11x14, you're not even going to notice how many "megapixels" your camera uses. Number of megapixels does not an amazing photographer make.
Fantastic entry-level camera, particularly when you think about it, at that price, it's less than many point-and-shoots!
