I am a transplant from New York and the east coast to Colorado. After 36 years in Colorado, I've lost the fascination with New York. It's a wonderful place to visit but living there is a nightmare. I last spent time there in 1983 for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. They lived was out on Long Island but I spent 3 days in the city at the 63rd street YMCA just a 1/2 block off Central Park West. While New York City is crammed full of historic sites, it's not the Alpha and the Omega of historic areas. Colorado can match it site for site, particularly here in Denver, so say nothing about the rest of the state. New Yorkers need to come down out of their ivory towers.
