Hangover helpers by country
National Geographic has a nifty little chart showing traditional hangover cures by country. You may have known, for example, that many Americans use tomato juice and eggs to cure the aftermath of a long night out on the town. But did you know that in Romania they use tripe soup? As in cow's stomach tripe? I don't know about you, but nothing makes my upset tequila bowels go away better than some cow's stomach.
Browsing around through the other hangover cures, you can see the stories behind each by hovering your cursor over any of the images. Coffee and green tea, to me, seem to be the only palatable items on the menu. But I guess I've always had a pretty weak stomach.
For now though, I'll leave the fish, pickles and tripe soup go, to the foodies.

Ha. Ha!! Tise laws are probably no longer enforced (enforcable) But in the US, it is not Technically illegal to photograph cops in action, so long as you don't get in the way, but some innocent teenage photographer was pepper-sprayed by one. I guess: use a telephoto lens! Also, a stupid law in Switzerland: making your own fireworks at home is BIG-time prison sentence--and yet, they and Germany produce most of the world's black gunpowder! Guess they don't want competition! Also, you may go as fast as you want on Germany's AutoBahn, but don't even give the "Okay" sign to another driver--it is considered rude there, and will get you a ticket--! How rude were the Nazis-??!!

Tripe soup is also a "cure" in Mexico, where it's called menudo.

It's easier to avoid the hangover in the first place. Good hydration with water before and in between alcoholic drinks prevents most hangovers. The rest of these tricks are absolute nonsense and have no medical basis. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to force tripe into your roiling stomach after an all night bender? I guess their cure involves puking all your stomach contents up, thereby solving that nausea problem.

Mexicans believe that tripe soup (Menudo) cures hangovers. Actually, I tried it - (minus the tripe) and the broth alone seemed to work. Personally, I'd rather just take a Tylenol and go back to bed....

a bloody mary is the best cure. the salt helps the hydration, tomato juice to settle acid stomach and a bit of vodka to smooth out the cob webs
