what's been keeping the price up, during this offseason that there are many less flights! Aloha went under way before the economy tanked, and other airlines have been cutting back.

I went there last month (Maui from mainland) and it was impossible to find a flight under $620... that's a decent price, but far from great. everything was not "too" crowded but I would hate to see it otherwise. our hotel which was magnificent was about 1/2 full, and at peak it would not have been anywhere as good.

that said I'd love to visit there many more times, but cost is prohibitive so I'll probably have to keep it to every other year or so. we'll find other places to travel and vacation in the meantime, but already been to Mexico quite a lot and not crazy about things down there, so will keep my eyes open for other deals.
