Peek adds free unlimited text messaging and image attachment viewing

Well, that was fast. Peek (the $80 personal email device) was just featured in our top 20 best travel products of 2008, and they have already worked hard on making the device even better.

Dan Morel, the "chief Peek Geek" recently asked Peek users for some features they'd love to see on their devices. Text messaging was apparently one of the most requested features, because that has just been added to the Peek service.

Starting today, Peek users can send unlimited (US) text messages directly from their device by entering the phone number of the recipient in the "to" field.

Peek also added image attachment viewing with support for most popular image formats.

The image viewing feature was in my opinion long overdue, but the ability to send unlimited text messages for the same monthly rate ($19.95) is very attractive, and will probably help boost their Christmas sales even more. The device itself is still on sale for just $79.95 (till the end of the year).

You can read more about the new features on the Peek boards.
