Once again, another great post Heather. It's your posts that make me more aware of the way I act as a passenger, in this ever changing world of air travel. I've learned to not expect so much when flying, and that mentality has helped me appreciate what little bit of service the harried flight attendant has to offer, with what little he, or she has to work with. There's nothing wrong with holding on to your own coat (even if you're seated in first class - an attentive FA will probably ask if they can take it for you right before take-off anyway), or having to wait your turn to get your drink (everyone else does, and are those few extra minutes really going to make you dehydrated?). People need to be a bit more reasonable in their expectations of air travel, if they were, their flight experiences wouldn't be so bad. As for getting to know the FA, I have had many an interesting conversation with them (when they're not engaged in the beverage, or meal, service), and found that they have the most interesting experiences, as well as useful tips for where you're headed. Who knows, I may have even struck a conversation with you!
