German newspapers are reporting that the fire was started by a smouldering cigarette left in the bus toilet by one of the pax. It caused a build-up of fumes and depleted the oxygen in the bathroom. When the next person went to use the toilet, the whole area erupted into flames when new oxygen was introduced into the bathroom once the door was opened.
Very tragic. The owner of the bus company was extremely distraught when she was interviewed on TV last night.
