Airline Celebrates 5th Anniversary with Free Flights for All
United Arab Emirates-based Air Arabia will be celebrating its 5th birthday with a special treat for its customers. Everyone flying on the Persian Gulf's original low-cost carrier on October 28th will fly for free. Passengers are still expected to pay any applicable airport taxes and fees. The free flights are for one day only and only include one-way service. Before you get excited, you should know that the airline has a rather limited list of destinations. Outside of the Middle East, Air Arabia flies to India, Ukraine and Nepal. In all, there are 42 cities from which passengers can take advantage of the no cost specials.
Air Arabia is a regional leader in its niche; though younger budget carriers, like NAS and Jazeera Airways, are also competitive. But, things are looking quite rosy for Air Arabia. They recently inked a deal that will triple the size of their fleet (which currently consists of 15 Airbus A320s). If they keep up the pace of growth, one wonders what'll be on tap for the 10th anniversary.

Dear Linda,
I am very sorry for your loss...but I know you can begin to live again.
Lin Oct 24th 2008 8:31AM
Hey Linda, Try Hotwire and their last minute fares. Me and my daughter just flew for $109. Don't forget the new $15 baggage charge though when figuring your price/budget or stuff everything into a small carry on. I saw flights to Florida for 139! I'm hoping to sell a few things on Ebay and get some traveling money! Good luck and I'm so sorry for your loss.

?? ONE WAY???? WHERE DO THEY LEAVE YOU???
Jessica Oct 24th 2008 12:39PM
They don't leave you. You pay for the return trip, or you plan a bus or rail return. Obviously.

My son moved to AZ.a few years ago and this is the only year that he cant afford to come home for the holidays.prices are just to high.

Didn't one of our airlines try to do something like that (free flight) here?....hmmmm, I wonder
Hi Jo, you're not alone...my mom moved to Cape Coral, FL a few years ago (we're in Chicago)...I've been able to take my daughter down there each summer except for this year...mom, of course, is upset tht she won't see us...we are, of course, upset that we can't get down there to see her...the price had more than doubled for the two of us to go (last yr paid $175 RT for each ticket - now, it's over $400 each)
And, last year's flight to visit friends for the weekend in Minneapolis only cost me $85 RT...this year, airlines were asking for over $350 in some cases to make that same trip...whaaaaat?...it's only an hour or so flight!
Does anyone think the price of airfare will go down since the price of oil has dropped to around last year's cost?...Any intelligent speculation will do
