JetBlue flight attendant accused of sexually harassing a passenger
Here's a sordid, wacky tale, and one that's hard to believe, except that the person who is accused of gross behavior has admitted to part of the accusation.
Here is the scoop from what I read in this CBStv.com story. A male JetBlue flight attendant has been accused by a female passenger of sexual harassment.
She said:
- he said he would make sure no one sat next to her so she could be all his.
- he said that he wanted her.
- he said that she wanted him.
- he kept grabbing himself.
- he tossed his open cell phone on her tray to show her naked pictures of himself .
- he made vulgar comments to her through the bathroom door when she fled there to escape his advances.
- he grabbed her derriere when she was heading back to her seat.
He said that:
- he DID show her naked pictures of himself on his cell phone.
- he DID MAKE sexual advances,
He said he DID NOT
- grab her butt.
- act in a harassing manner.
As a result of the woman coming forward with her accusations, the flight attendant was arrested for "obscene and indecent exposure" and for making "lewd, obscene and indecent sexual proposal." JetBlue is still involved in the investigation of the he said/she said situation.
Even though the incident happened seven months ago, the woman said she was too scared to say something to any officials at the time of the incident. In retrospect, she admits saying something at the time of the incident would have been the best tactic.
If such a thing ever happens to you on a plane, which I would hope is a rare occurrence indeed, here is one thing I've thought of to say to a flight attendant (or anyone else) who is making comments you think are inappropriate:
"Sir (or Mam) you are being inappropriate. I do not like the way you are talking and behaving. If you do not stop immediately, I will notify the appropriate authorities."
If the behavior continues, stand up, walk down the aisle to the appropriate person, tell him or her immediately what occurred. If you do not feel safe after taking action, ask for an escort after the plane lands. The woman said she did not feel safe. I'm wondering if she wasworried that he may do something rash after the plane landed. That's why I would ask for an escort. I don't know if you can get one, but why not ask?
There is no need to take on any bad feelings from a person who is acting like an idiot towards you.

Female flight attendants do this stuff all the time...maybe not grab butts, but certainly flirt.
Many times they carry it to the "meet you at the hotel" level, so why shouldn't a male do the same thing?

Male passengers are usually more receptive to this kind of flirting from females (FAs or otherwise). Also, female flirters are usually more attuned to the degree to which their advances are welcomed. From this report, neither of these applied: the advances were not welcomed by the "flirtee", and the flirter was not sensitive to that.

Female FAs do it all the time? What airline are you flying, Hooters air? I fly UA, AA, Swiss, SAS and Luft, and from what I see the average age of the Female FA has risen to about 47 years old.
So if these Grandmothers are patting your butt, it is probably because you are engaging in some childish behavior.
Naturally, I do not mean to denegrate the young FAs out there, with their low seniority they are flying the roughest schedules, and they continue to look great and provide good service with a smile, while secretly worrying about how to pay their mortgage.
TIP: if you want good service and for the flight crew to treat you like a person, act like a human being and help someone else on the flight. FAs really respond to people who make their jobs easier and think of their fellow passengers.

Please let me know which airline has female flight attendants coming on to you and meeting you in hotels. I would never again ride another airline. As a matter of fact, I don't know any man who would be against this even if he did'nt want to go as far as commiting the act, IMO,he would'nt call it inappropriate. Maybe his ego might get big but that's it.

Wait... they're NOT supposed to grab your rear and show you naked pictures of themselves? Boy, have I been mistaken while flying lately. I thought these were a couple of the only services left during the flight you didn't have to pay for.

First off, flirting and grabbing butts are two VERY VERY different things.
And whether it's a male or female flight attendant, it should not be accepted when it crosses the line from flirting to harrassment. Obviously the lady felt threatened, and that should not be tolerated.

Is this why they call it Jet BLUE?
Seriously, this used to be the airline with the best customer service. Now it's the worst. They kept us waiting 7 hours in Ft Lauderdale because the flight attendants were sleeping in, lied that they were on their way, and refused to take attendants from a plane scheduled to depart two hours after us to keep up their "on time" record. When one man protested, they called security.
Since Neeleman left, the airline should be called Jet Screw You.
You've been warned.

Flying by grabbing the seat of your pants...isn't that called "barn storming?"
fredflyer Oct 3rd 2008 4:57PM
Maybe he was heading for a layoff like so many FAs around the country.... and just didn't care.
One reader pointed out the "meet me at...." flirting that goes on... you have to be at the layover hotel... that is where the fun begins... boozing FAs and Pilots....
big shoutout to M. Klein layed off at Midwest... who are you going to booze and sleep with now?? Maybe door to door selling cookies... "think cookies"

I think if the lady had simply said very loudly "get away from me you weirdo' That would have gotten alot of attention and would have stopped the situation.....
Sarahk Oct 3rd 2008 2:37PM
I totally agree! If more people addressed situations head on, they would not have to 'resort' to suing companies to compensate for their anguish.
Embarass the crap out of the offender and come away with a hilarious story to tell all your friends!

Or, just 'nard him and shove a bag of peanuts down his throat...

I'm sure she had too much to drink and I doubt he even did what he admits to doin, live and let live

Comments like yours are why women are afraid. It is not always something that a woman did or did not do to cause a pervert to do something like this.
Sounds like to me you are also a pervert and a jerk .
agb1953 Oct 3rd 2008 8:59PM
If he was drinking on duty as a fllight attendant he will go to prison. It's a federal crime. And people don't confess to what they haven't done. You're just a perv who keeps bull$shit excuses handy to downplay your sick approach to women.
