I spend everyday building and making up my own designs of star wars ships. My favorite day is one where I don't have to go to school and I can build with Lego all day. My mom posted this for me.

When I was a kid, LEGO came to the stores. It was a fantastic alternative to "Lincoln Logs" and "Tinker Toy". It allowed more creative flexibility to engage the brain when boredom set in. The LEGO collection has grown through the years with my son and daughter and now grandsons. During a recent visit with my grandsons, they pulled out the LEGO tub and asked their grandpa to join them for a building challenge. Now, new LEGO collections come for birthdays and special rewards. The collection grows.

My favorite LEGO memory is the first time I ever saw LEGO blocks. With only 3 girls in our family, we always got girl toys. It was when we were visiting boy cousins that I first got to see the LEGOS and play with them. I had so much fun building things with them. Of course, our parents never bought them for us, so I could only play with them when visiting the cousins. When I grew up, married, and had a child, I made sure she got LEGOs to play with.

I had two younger brothers growing up and the one thing we actually ever played together was Legos. Being a girly girl---I was not overly fond of spiders...well brother number one made some out of Legos...then hid them under my blanket...So when I went to climb in bed that night I was given quite the scare! Now the funny part of that now is that the spiders did not resemble spiders all that closely...so to this day...some 25 years later I am still the butt of all of the Lego spider jokes! Lucky me! My son has actually become quite the Lego fan and let me tell you the spiders he has made are much scarier then the one my brother made years ago...go figure!

New Years Eve was always spent with family friends coming over. Our parents would play cards and us kids just played. One year, my mom got sick and we had to cancel the annual tradition. My brother and I were really bummed. Then we got out a lego set that we had. It was one of the big sets that you could make an airport and jumbo jet out of. Anyway, my brother, our dad, and I spent the whole evening putting that thing together. we would look carefully at the picture on the box and then figure out which piece had to go where. Eventually, our mom was feeling better to where she came out and watched us for a while. It took all night, but we finally had our airport and plane built. Now, I have two kids. A son with autism who really isn't into legos and a daughter who loves them. She went to a week long camp this summer as an into to Robotics. and guess what they used! The Lego Mindstorms with the programmable computer chip. And that's what she's putting on her Christmas list this year.

They didn't have legos when I was a child but I remember being awed at the amazing lego display when we went to Disney world and let's face it everyone is a child when you go there.

I didn't grow up with Legos but my husband did. Now we have two children (son-9 and daughter-7) whom he shares his Legos with and we have added many more sets. They spend hours in front of the tv with Kenny Loggins DVD in and building all kinds of wonderful creations with their Legos. It would be a great surprise if I won the tickets and took them down to Chicago by train and visited the museum. Great giveaway!

I used my legos to build birdhouses... and then I'd hang them outside, and for some reason birds never quite took them. Nonetheless they were the start of my career as an architect!

I came from a family of six. There were five boys and one girl. I was the youngest and always had to settle for the "Hand-D-Down" toys my brothers had grown tired of or had something broken on it.
The one toy that stood the test of time for all of us was our Legos? (OK! My brothers and I have had many arguments about this, is it, "I was playing with my LEGO or LEGO's") Sorry, for getting off track. We would play for hours with these building anything from forts to race cars.
Today, I enjoy playing with the LEGOs with my two children. I can't wait to bring them to the Chicago LEGOLAND!
