My favorite childhood memory involving lego was building castles with my brother... He would build the foundations for the castles and I would add trap doors and other bells and whistles.

One time a friend of mine took all of his legos and dumped them inside my mother's car... it was a mess. He told her she should clean her car more often. Pretty mean, but still a funny memory.

Watching how people "interview" for Lego on TV; one guy replicated Mount Rushmore in a room filled to the brim with Lego.

I loved trying to make jet fighters with my lego pieces. I'm not talking about buying a jet fighter set and following instructions, but taking random pieces and doing my best. Got to love the Red, blue, yellow, white, and some green jet fighter

When I was just a toddler my father and brother worked together many days, building a giant lego castle from the instruction book. One day, I toddled into the room and smashed the castle down. Years later I would borrow the castle set and try to recreate the masterpiece -with out the many missing pieces. The day my brother decided to give me the castle set for good I was ecstatic and legos immediately became my new favorite toy.

When I started babysitting at 12 I got the little boy Todd interested. Every weekend I would bring him a new set of Lego's to play with . Todd is now 34 and too this day still gets Lego's as a Christmas gift every year. His imagination when he was younger was unbelievable. He could build anything with those small little squares and he did. He had two hugh plastic boxes he would dump out and build with. It made babysitting very easy knowing thats what he did all night. As he got older he would make those pieces that nobody could touch and he would decorate his room with. Mazes for the hampsters a speciality! My nieces are now into Lego's and I once again am the supplier and look forward to many more years of building with them. This is aslo the gift of choice I give to all my friends who have kids--LEGO'S. Thank You

During Halloween, one of the park districts in our area pass out mini bags of Legos - last year we got a Steven Speilberg pirate movie set scene. My kids have a blast playing with it! My son really likes the lego Star Wars as well.

As a child my brothers and I played with our legos all day long. I am 42 years old and now have an 8 year old and 5 year old whom are both into the lego scene. My memories were rekindled a few years back when I dug out numerous old toys that my parents had saved for me. One box contained all of my old legos, or atleast most of them that were not mixed in with stuff given to my brothers. Opening that box brought me back to my youth, countless hours with my brothers, building houses, vehicles, making people out of the small blocks. In those days we just had the basic legos. Legos allowed us to use our imaginations to create, build, and grow our minds. Even with all the new fancy and detail oriented legos of today, my kids still use my old legos to make things. Just the other day my daughter took some of the old lego style windows and 2 of the old train track rails I had along with other blocks and made a pair of glasses! I told her, see what you can do when you use your imagination. That's a new memory I will never forget.

I loved Lego as a kid. I remember creating an Formula 1 car, that was sort of converted over time into a Helicopter. The F1/Helicopter then became a futuristic battle group, with detachable attack vehicles that would fly around the world and fight against the evil forces that would try to take over humanity. It was something of a Thunderbirds/Anime space craft thing. I was able to keep the F1/Helicopter/Battle group together for many years, and many adventures. I still have fond memories of that thing today. Now I am 46 years old; and, I still love to build the Lego sports cars. In fact, I hope I get a new Yellow Lego Ferrari for my birthday at the end of this month. Lego keeps me forever young at heart...Thank you Lego from Mike C.

I had the chance to help set up a Lego exibit once. I was 23 going on 8 when I found out I'd get to be paid to play with Legos! It ended up being really hard work and went from midday to sunrise (the next day), but was worth every minute!

I used to build houses for my Barbies and other dolls. An unorthodox use, I suppose, but nonetheless it was quite fun.

With three brothers growing up, we couldn't keep the lego sets separated, so we were left with a bunch of legos in one giant tub that we would build anything and everythign from. I also loved the little lego sets that used to come in the McDonalds happy meals.
I was at DragonCon in ATL this weekend and saw Lego Boba Fett,

Lego's are classic, simple, flexible, colorful. As a kid I built many buildings, experimenting with the shapes and details. Also got my girls a Lego train set but I think I played with it more than they did. Maybe the perfect toy!

Lego's were always the "big hit" of the holiday season. My brothers and I always looked forward to whatever new set we would receive for Christmas, Birthday, etc., and would spend the next couple/few hours assembling the newest addition to our collection. From the old fire stations, where the ambulance drivers were nearly as tall as the building itself, to the expert builder sets which could take many hours, it has always been a fond memory.
As an adult member of our local community theater, I design sets for various productions. Many times I will build a LEGO mock-up of the set for the Directors and Actors to use to get a feel for the stage before the set is constructed. This makes it real in their mind before the first nail is ever pounded.
I now enjoy the tradition of building LEGO's with my son. He is 10 and has been receiving sets for a few years. He has completed the LEGO Star Wars Star Destroyer, among others, and is eagerly saving his money to purchase the LEGO Star Wars Death Star which he saw at Disney World. He even watches Ebay to buy sets which aren't available locally.
It is amazing to see what new vehicles, buildings, entire worlds come from the combined elements of so many LEGO building sets which he and I continue to accumulate. We love them. An intelligent, mind-expanding toy that kids and adults can enjoy !
