I love the charm of Hanoi. They can build 100 first class hotels (let's hope not), and I would still stay in those owned by the small operators. Then, you have another traveler who will not stay anywhere except a 4 or 5 star. The concern here (at least for me) is what are they tearing down. Let's hope they have the good sense to retain the character and uniqueness of the city. Time will tell.
