Hi Jim,

Thanks for this, as it adds valuable perspective. No doubt we're not really talking about some epidemic of knifings in London, but the trend is significant enough to have local authorities not only worried, but doing something about it. And if you're a visitor in London right now -- as many are, at the tail end of the summer tourist season -- you very likely could find yourself asked to submit to a random screening.

That alone is certainly something new to travel in London.
