Someone who actually knows something about Japan said...
"however, foreign products have started to make significant advances in the Japanese consumer market, particularly anything made by Cupertino, California-based Apple Inc."
Don't make me laugh!
Nearly no one in Japan uses any Apple products!
MacBook? NO! (mainy Sony Vaio or Toshiba)
iPod? NO! (it's mainly sony stuff)
iPhone? NO! (there was some attention when it was released but it just didn't fit in with the Japanese way of living)
1) Go into ANY Yodobashi Camera (etc.) and you will find that Apple is a MINORITY!
2) Apple is seriously NOT more advanced in technology and design. Esp. MacBooks! User friendly interface sucks! The iPod's stupidly high price for just a nice wheel which other MP3/4 players have.

I live in Japan and I am a technology and gadget freak :D
