5 Non-Tourist Destinations in Beijing

If going to the Great Wall also be sure that the area you are going will allow you to climb. A lot of the non-touristy parts of the wall have been closed to foreigners during the Olympics. I just spent last weekend trying to get to some of these areas with no luck. Where it used to be a sign saying not to climb that no one observed, they have begun to put actual guards in some areas and the equivalent of a neighborhood watch in others.
