'Humiliated' passenger sues Continental Airlines
Carolyn "Lynne" Meadow, the artistic director of the Manhattan Theater Club, filed a lawsuit against Continental Airlines yesterday, saying a member of the company's flight crew humiliated her by turning her over to the FBI.The incident happened last August on a flight from Rome to New York, according to the New York Sun.
The Sun reports the story today in a long-winded, blow-by-blow account. Here's a summary: Meadow angered one flight attendant by asking him to be quiet while she slept, she then proceeded to monopolize other flight attendants' time with various requests, and she finally broke an armrest monitor (accidentally, she claimed), incurring the wrath of the flight attendant she initially shushed.
Even that's a little long-winded.
Anyway, the flight attendant accused her of "destroying" airplane property and had the Feds waiting for her when the plane touched down in New York.
She is suing the airline for emotional distress, humiliation and for providing her with faulty flight equipment, the Sun reports.
Continental is not commenting on the matter.

Sorry but when it comes to experiences with this airline I believe the passenger! I had trouble on a continental flight a few months back and because of it missed my connecting flight and had to have my husband drive to another STATE to get my bags then drive 2 hours to come pick up my 5 yr old, 5 month old and myself! My kids had not eaten dinner, we were not offered any meal coupons, and by the time we got home it was after midnight. When I called the airline the next morning I got nothing! Not even an apology!

i agree she is a drama queen, if she had so much emotional distress and humilation, why did she wait 10 mons. to file a lawsuit.

Oh, Crystal! You poor, poor thing! The flight attendant was too noisy for your taste. And of course the broken monitor was not your fault. Is anything? I think you should refuse to fly with any airline. Just charter your own jet and let the airlines suffer. If you'd been gagged and cuffed, it probably would have been a much nicer flight for all involved (except, possibly, you).
A petulant child is what you sound like. I hope you get a big attorney's fee bill and your attorney wakes up in time to smell the coffee and drop your stupid case. You've been "humiliated." If this is the worst that ever happens to you, be grateful.
If you ever have a real problem which is not of your own making, tell us about it and maybe then we can extend you our sympathy. Until then I hope you get a life without having to be such a victim in your own mind. Yes, a drama queen, as has been expressed.

I agree, drama queen. Can someone please tell me why it's a federal offense to distroy airline property, but it is acceptable every day occurance for the airline to break our property?

This is a nation of whiners who exhibit bad manners and then teach them to their children. This whole nation needs to grow up. I hope the judge throws this suit out and saves our money over this frivolous lawsuit.

Insane. Americans are spoiled complaining nimrods. Sit down and shut up. Put one bag in the overhead and one under the seat in front of you. If you don't like flying, get in your car and drive. Oh wait, gas is too high so it is cheaper to fly. Even more reason to sit down and shut up and buy a Bose noise cancelling head set.

HAHAHAHA, JUST BECAUSE A PASSENGER SUES, DOESN'T MEAN THEY WILL WIN. YOU'LL FIND THAT MOST CASES BROUGHT AGAINST AIRLINES..... THE AIRLINES WIN. WHY? BECAUSE EVERY NUT JOB IN THE WORLD IS LOOKING FOR THE FREE RIDE WITH LOT'S OF CASH. IF THE AIRLINES SETTLED EVERY ONE OF THEM...THERE'D BE NO MORE AIRLINES.

They'll settle if within reason, simple because it costs less to settle then fight the xase. Who can prove the passenger broke anything, how many crappy seats has anyone who fly's has found, and then to be turned over to the FBI for "damaging" an airplane, what a laugh.

well, between the service seriously deteriorating, the fares continually rising, the growing list of add-on charges and the way they treat their employees, they'll be lucky to have any passengers at all.

I personally know Chris. I am sickened that this woman would use his name first of all. Second, He is the most professional Flight Attendant I know. While none of us perfect, Chris has ALWAYS been a professional. He was the lead flight attendant in a perfect evacuation of a wide body aircraft with no injury and has always proved himself to be an asset to the company. There are always two stories to every story, and I am sorry, but in this case, for Chris to have the authorities called, there must have been more to this story. It holds no water nor no merit;. He is not the man to call the authorities on such a frivolous charge unless warranted. These charges are unfounded and I hope a Judge will see that they are the same. It is a shame that Chris has to deal with the unfounded lies of this woman, who won't admit to her part in this lie, because of her behavior on board an aircraft because she married a lawyer, and decided to sue. Shame on her. Chris does not deserve this nor does any flight attendant who flies in todays airlines. It is a sad day when we cannot do our job and a DIVA decides to ruin the life of another.
