Can't resist throwing an insult to TSA, can you? Thanks for the link to the 4 year old story, too.
Yes, there are theives in the TSA just like there are in the police, local government and some little league booster clubs. To insuate that it is all screeners is just snotty.
I'm going to suggest that the laptops that disappear are done mostly by other passengers. My husband nearly lost a new laptop bag to someone who thought it was his - nevermind he didn't have a computer with him. I guess he would have tried to snag the computer, too, if my hubby didn't already have his "baby" in hand.
You ought to go have a look at the things left behind down at the lost and found. I have seen portable oxygen tanks, laptops, cameras, diabetic monitors and entire carry on bags. It's amazing what people leave behind.
