I agree. The Survivor-esque mode of strategizing to eliminate the other contestants doesn't quite work in the context of this show and I'm not really interested in who feels betrayed blah blah blah. But I love the rest of the show! The gameshow antics are hilarious (and I actually think the host-to-contestant comments are funny), and I really enjoy the cultural forays that the winning and losing teams take. I'd never heard of doctor fish before, so I learned something, too. All in all, a very fun hour of television.
