I can't say I feel sorry for the victim. Clearly he wasn't thinking with his head when he felt it was important to retrieve his cap. So I guess life or fate or Death saw fit to lop his head off. After all, he saw no need for it.
Sounds like something straight out of Final Destination, if you think about it. Boy lost his cap, loses his head figuratively, fails to heed common sense, loses his head literally.
