Thanks for this post! I'm originally from Minneapolis (thought I now live in Los Angeles), and it's nice to see people recognizing my often-ignored hometown.
For any younger people visiting, the music venues are especially great. First Avenue is an old Greyhound bus station converted into a now infamous rock venue. The Quest was built and owned by Prince before he sold it, and it looks exactly how you'd expect a club built by Prince to look. Big gargoyles everywhere and fountains and such. Triple Rock looks like a tiny airplane hanger (NOFX wrote a song about the venue). Fine Line Cafe is a very classy ultra-modern blues club. There's a ton more, but I've taken up enough space already.
