Passenger lights cigarette, punches flight attendant and diverts flight to Denver
We may have a new contender for worst passenger on an aircraft ever, ladies and gentlemen. Sorry Kyla and girls who think they're prettier than the rest of the plane, you may have met your match. On a Jetblue flight between San Francisco and New York this past Tuesday, Christina Szele just couldn't wait any any longer for a smoke and decided to light up in the cabin. Obviously this has been outlawed on planes for years, so a flight attendant went back to ask her to put it out.
In response to the request, Szele instead verbally abused the flight attendant with racist remarks, provoking futher concern from the crew. After further agitation, several employees decided to restrain her and were able to secure her well enough to apply flexible handcuffs.
Untill she broke out of them. And punched the flight attendant that she was earlier harrasing in the face. Great idea.
Things got so far out of hand that the pilot had to divert the flight into Denver and have the woman removed from the aircraft and arrested. Now she faces 20 years in prison and up to 250,000 in fines.
I think that they should have just thrown her out of the plane with a parachute.

Man, where did you go to college? I want to find out so i don't accidently send my daughter there.
(Untill she broke out of them). If this refers to the previous sentence, then why did you start a new paraghraph? It is also an incomplete sentance and until only has one L. (And punched the flight attendant that she was earlier harrasing in the face.)This sentence, which is the 'meat and tomatoes' of your article, is the most jacked up one. It starts with And, it is an INCOMPLETE sentence, If it had a noun it would still be in the passive voice, and the grand daddy of em' all, it has a misplaced modifier. This sentence says that someone punched a flight attendant, but previously harrased her face. I hate people who nit pick grammer but really you murdered your oppurtunity to show off your flair as a writer.(which still shown through, I don't know how)

I feel bad for all those smokers who board flights that are hours long. The airlines need to understand that for some smokers smoking is not just a habit or a way of life, but an addiction. I recently had to go to Europe from the U.S and I had to transfer. I was traveling with my uncle who is in his mid- forties and started smoking at 16. He was going to have a breakdown. There used to be one room where he can smoke, now they removed that room and we had to travel out the airport to smoke. They need to stop making traveling so hard for smokers, going 8 hours without a smoke is ridiculous. Here’s an analogy: Not smoking for 8 hours for an addict is like having a migraine in a club without water or aspirin to thoe who work in an office all day.

Nope, you can't throw her off at Flight Level 380. Ever heard of explosive decompression? Should she get 20 yrs? No too much but I can definitely see 3-5 yrs...
God Bless,

Anyone who flies now days, and doesn't HAVE TO, is an idiot. The "smoke Nazi's" are everywhere and the fascists that support them are chiding them on. While fat people are allowed to eat and fart at will.

The article says "Obviously this has been outlawed on planes for years." FAA regulations REQUIRE the pilots to turn on the "NO Smoking" in preparation for take-offs and landings. The same regulations REQUIRE the passengers to obey the "No Smoking" sign when lit.
The airlines ignore the prefference of 23% of their passengers who smoke, and chose to accommodate the 77% who do not smoke. A business decision. The pilots are instructed by their employer (not the LAW) to keep the "No Smoking" sign lit for the entire flight.
A passenger who lights up in mid-flight while the "No Smoking" light is on, technically violates FAA regulations. If however the light is NOT ON, there is no violation as there is NO REGULATION regarding smoking per se.
