Brad Pitt to design luxury Dubai hotel
He may be a well-known actor, but according to Brad Pitt, his real passion is architecture. The Hollywood star is taking his passion to Dubai where he will be designing a five star resort, complete with hotel rooms and a leisure complex which will host flashy events and awards ceremonies. According to the property company, the complex will be "socially conscious" and a world leader in environmental sustainability. Pitt says he has a strong belief in "environmentally friendly architecture," but that gives rise to the following question: how environmentally friendly can a 800 room luxury resort really be? I mean, aren't the oil tycoons, Hollywood stars and big time businessman who will be the hotel's main clientele already putting a significant cost on the environment with their private jets and numerous automobiles?
Are these the strangest hotels on the planet?

While the "green elilte" claim that my car is warming up the earth, those in the "club" seem to be allowed to do anything they want. An 800 room luxury hotel that is more environmentally friendly than my lawnmower?? The laws of physics blush. I can't wait until ordinary people get sick to death of these self righteous hypocrites and ignores all of them at all levels.

You've got to be kidding! Are people so dumb that we believe entertainers actually can be what they pretend to be? We believe Oprah can dictate what we read (note the way her book club selections become immediate best sellers), pick our president (note the way Obama has overcome all the scandals that should have ended his candidacy), tell us how to diet (although her own weight struggles should tell us this is preposterous). Brad Pitt might be able to successfully portray an architect in a movie, but you'd have to be crazy to actually let him create a building.

Why can't he just keep doing things here in the USA? There are alot of problems here that maybe if the STARS think about it they could help here more.I admire people who want to help the third world countries but ours is falling apart too. Why won't they acknowledge that?
