Plane Answers: Overcoming the fear of flying

Hi Kent!

Since reading all about your travels I have overcome so much of my anxiety about flying. My fiance and I live in San Francisco, but he's from Portsmouth - so we fly into Logan all the time. The last time I was waiting in the terminal to fly home, I got a little nervous and then remembered that you fly in and out of there allllll the time. Reading about how the plane works, what goes on during flight, and what turbulence really is, has done absolute wonders for my mind. The funny thing is, when I'm on the ground I love jets and the idea of flying! I love watching them and have even dreamed of someday taking a flight lesson. Honestly, thanks to you this is becoming more and more of a reality.

That's so great. Thanks for the nicest compliment ever. I'm so glad you got something out of these posts.

An intro lesson at a local flight school would cost $100. I think it would really help you out. Be sure to go up on a really still day. If you get to Portsmouth sometime and want to try it here, there's a great flight school in Hampton that you'd love.

Go out to the restaurant for lunch there sometime, preferably on a weekend. Of course, email me through Gadling before you come out for your lesson! I want to be there!
