Ever since I had what felt like dysentery the first time I went to China (caused by a regrettably great tasting fruit salad in rural Liaoning), I always carry Cipro when I travel to shady places. Mind you, I had skitters for almost 4 weeks and lots 10lbs; I never leave home to Asia without it. Ironically that summer of 2000, Immodium and all Western meds didn't help. It wasn't until I took Seirogan that cured me of my ailments. I guess sometimes Eastern meds for Eastern bugs!
