I have to nitpick -- the European Cup is the same thing as the Champions League (or at least they used to call it the EC before they changed the format several years ago).
The European Championship is the European version of the World Cup -- nations (not city-based clubs) playing against each other. That one is this summer, commonly referred to as "Euro 2008".
Anyway, since I'll be in Vienna for the final, I'm kind of glad that England didn't qualify. Here's hoping for a France-Germany final!
