Russian man has a few too many, dies on airplane
Last month, Iva told us about a Russian man who was too drunk to notice he'd been stabbed in the back with a knife. Now, add this one to the list of bad things that happen to Russians when they booze: A Russian man on an Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Toronto didn't quite make it, dying before the plane touched down yesterday.
Passengers say he had been drinking heavily and had picked fights with several male passengers. Flight attendants reportedly broke up these scuffles by moving the man to the front of the plane, where he died.
Police are now looking into whether alcohol contributed to his death.
What strange things have been found on planes?

Well Boris...let me know when your drunk and ready enough for your flying lessons ok? Cheap vodka equals death at 30,000ft. Where were the KGB? sounds a bit fishy that this person was allowed to keep drinking after after causing a fight or two with other passangers? I bet they let him sit up front with his own bottle to keep him quite, well it worked to good.. didn't it?? By the way, Isn't the pilot's door and control panel in the front of the plane?? Remind me not to book a flight to central sibera anytime soon! Later comrade!

if this bugs you, don't fly. If you do fly alot, buy your own plane and vaccuum and wax it everyday (2-times) then repeat.

Gargamello, i agree with you, since many russian pilots are stunt fliers (that's what my 4th grade teacher told me). All i can say is think twice before grabbing that tenth bottle of beer, especially on a plane.

The headline writer is a fraud and a liar, not to mention a creep. No mention of this guy drinking himself to death in the story. Jeffrey Wright is a moron.

A fact seldom known by the general public- aircraft are pressurized to an equivalent of 8000 ft. ABOVE sea level,so when your cruising at 35,000 feet your body feels as if it's at 8000 ft., NOT 0 ft,or sea level. When this happens the effect alcohol has on your body is increased by rushing alcohol into your bloodstream faster and also magnifying it's effects on you- A double whammy. People that were fine on the ground after a few drinks wind up trashed once their planes at altitude. Someone who easily consumes six beers with no problems at home finds themselves getting blitzed on six once airborne. Unless you live in a cabin in the High Sierras at 8000 ft., you'll have to adjust to this pressure difference.

Russia is where this happened! It is not like the FAA is going to get involved. Passengers have a responsibility to themselves and others that use public transportation to cooporate. Sit down, buckle in and shut up. FA's are busy people and are there to save your butt not kiss it! So the guy died in flight. Like this has never happened before? Never puked into a bag? Never had a baby cry the entire four hour flight? Never had a kid kick the back of your seat from
LAX to ORD? Never sat next to a fearful flyer? How do you "86" someone at thirty thousand feet? "Sir, could you please step outside for a moment"? Do the Air Police show up and arrest the drunk? If so where do they take him to? The alleged drunk put the lives of everyone else in danger on that plane. I vote for the no alcohol rule in the airport and on aircraft.

Okay. Think ! Russians, Vodka, More Vodka, Russians, add high drama. The Italians have nothing on the russians for high drama bad tempers and More Vodka! If a little is okay more is better maybe the guy will pass out, sleep, we'll wake him when we land. OOOPS no one thought to check if the man was breathing. Happens all the time on Aeroflot I am sure. They have a terrible reputation. One Aeroflot crashed because the pilot let his 8 yr. old fly, sorry, crash the plane. His judgment was probablly impaired by all the vodka he drank in flight. Don't know when some of you were last on an international flight. but getting more than a pre-dinner drink, with dinner wine on US long hauls is nigh on to impossible these days. 'course there is always Aeroflot, and more vodka than you can drink.

To jeff.gadling
TSA may have nothing to with what happens onboard but they do before passengers get on board. In my estimation this person should never have made it on board.
Also it must be great to comment on what anyone says but YOU do not leave a reply in your statements!!!!
