Russian man has a few too many, dies on airplane
Last month, Iva told us about a Russian man who was too drunk to notice he'd been stabbed in the back with a knife. Now, add this one to the list of bad things that happen to Russians when they booze: A Russian man on an Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Toronto didn't quite make it, dying before the plane touched down yesterday.
Passengers say he had been drinking heavily and had picked fights with several male passengers. Flight attendants reportedly broke up these scuffles by moving the man to the front of the plane, where he died.
Police are now looking into whether alcohol contributed to his death.
What strange things have been found on planes?

. . . and that is the plain truth. . .

Sad - but true I guess. I just wanted to say that some passengers act out very strange sometimes once than get at certain altitudes. I'd say mainly because of the horrid conditions that passengers have to go through these days. Before, during, and after your flight can be trying for many. Personally, I just want to get there, so I just remain clam as I can, expect little during the flight, and always try to never check bags. Flying today is like going through an obstacle course. Point a finger at the problem? It is the airline industry, uninformed and numbed passengers, terrorists (pick a group!), air control systems, the weather, etc. I have to fly, so I prepare myself every time. Wish everyone else would too.

probably out frisking a 90 y/o man in a wheel chair. Or someone's 80 y/o grandmother, neither of which is a real threat.

Mike,
TSA has nothing to do with onboard flights.

You know...there's a reason why they have to look into whether this is alcohol or something else. There are all sorts of neurological issues that can occur and will affect behavior and emotions. His body may have been in the process of shutting down anyway, the alcohol could have been incidental.

Why did the flight attendants keep serving booze to this guy even when they could see that he was drunk and unruly?
Bars have an "86" rule; airlines should, too.

I don't want to be a party pooper, but, they serve that booze on the plane like there is no tommorow. People get so drunk. and there not even giving them food anymore. Crazy. I am surprised more people don't get killed once they get OFF the airplane. Like when they get behind the wheel of a car.

i guess they moved him to the front of the plane to be with the other drinkers.....the pilot and co-pilot!!!
2Smart4This May 2nd 2008 3:53PM
Most likely he was mixing some other drug with all the alcohol. Either an illegal substance or prescription medication, one or the other.
I liked the line above that stated :
Sometimes in Russia the plane kills you. Very funny.
Also a warning: Never go to a site that claims to have Naked photos of Paris, Britney, whoever.
It will freeze your computer and possibly worse.
Beware of those posting about the nude photo
site. They mean to do you and your computer
great harm. It will infect your computer with a destructive virus. Sick people do this, and they
get a kick out of harming you and your computer.
Never go to that site. You can thank me later.
wtf May 2nd 2008 4:40PM
so you aparently went to one of these sites huh!

really vague....how can this guy's death be determined w/out an autopsy?
...or was he beat to death by fellow passengers for being an "obnoxious" drunk?
drizzle May 2nd 2008 4:05PM
well,at least he was closer to the golden gates when he went!!!!
