Man robs bakery inside O'Hare airport
Last Friday at 8:45 AM, a man walked up to a lady opening up shop at the Corner Bakery in O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, demanded a bag of cash, hit her in the face, and escaped through the concourse and into the city, the Chicago Tribune reports. The first thing that came to mind was: how? Turns out, the bakery isn't located within the secure area, otherwise this act would be nearly impossible, one hopes.
Though with the TSA running the show, they probably would have made him pour out his stolen coffee while the large bag of cash and concealed weapon goes unnoticed. *rimshot*

Was the snotty remark about the TSA really necessary? As you pointed out - this was not in the sterile area therefore not the responsibility of the TSA. Even if it did happen after checkpoint, it is the responsibility of the O'Hare LEOs (Law Enforcement Officers) to apprehend the suspect.
You may be right about them not noticing a bag of cash - just like I took no notice of a ziplock bag of a leafy green substance in a passenger's bag once. It was my duty to make sure that no substance or weapon was allowed on board that could hurt another person or the aircraft. But, I will be willing to bet my life (and you had better be willing to bet yours) that the TSA will intercept a weapon.
But let's go ahead and make fun of the TSA, they are the best thing since the IRS to ridicule.

I liked the snotty remark about the TSA. Clearly it's meant to be humorous, and if the TSA did it's job just a tad bit more efficiently and with a more friendly demeanor, jokes like that would not ring true. So lighten up Emma.
