Touring Paris in the back of a "duck"
I am not the type to take a gondola ride in Venice. Yet, touring Paris in the back of the Citroën 2CV actually sounds kind of cool. It is a convertible car, so it offers a nice view. Being able to see the sky and "smell the city" is key.
A tour company called 4 roues sous 1 parapluie offers several different tours in the legendary "duck." There is the Essential Ride, where you get a chance to check out the most famous landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, or the Champs-Elysées. The Magic tour adds places like the Moulin Rouge and Montmartre, among others. There is Secret Paris, Thematic Paris, Paris a la carte, etc. You get the idea.
I still think the best way to get to know a city is to walk it. If you can't walk much, this could be the next best thing.
Thanks autobloggreen.com for the tip.

That does seem a rather chic way to view the city! I agree with you, though... you'll likely see more on foot, and personally I don't think it's too difficult to get around most of the main sites of Paris by walking.

I've used this company and have recommended them to friends and relatives. The drivers are friendly and informative, and have a real love for their city and their "tin snails". And everyone else loves the 2CV as well, tourists and locals alike, so much so that you'll feel like a minor celebrity! Tip: try to get a Sunday morning booking, less chance of losing time in traffic.

I got to spend 36 glorious hours in Paris. It was about 35 degrees and overcast - but we didn't care. We walked from the Louvre to Notre Dame. It is a long walk with kids (5 & 16), but not undoable.
We got BatoBus http://www.batobus.com/ tickets for about 8 euro (March 2006 prices) and it is a great deal. It has stops at all the major sights in the city. But, as we found out the hard way has limited opertaing hours in the off season. The mass transit is great in Paris. We were able to walk from our hotel to the Metro that took us to the Eiffel tower, rode the water taxi to the Louvre, walked to ND then took a taxi back to the tower. The Metro and water taxi passes were good for the entire day - unlimited uses.
Smell the city? I'll pass.
