How fat is your state?
When passengers are too large to fit into airplane seats, maybe it's time we had a little chat about the size of the average American. Mexico may be catching up, but -- rest assured -- we Americans are only getting larger. According to Calorie Lab, Mississippi is the fattest state in the Union, with West Virginia coming in at a close second. What are the skinniest states? Colorado and Massachusetts, but even there almost 20% of the population is obese. Looks like we need to start asking ourselves if we should really order a large burger and fries. Or maybe read a book on how other cultures stay svelte and attractive.
What impact does this have on travel? Just ask the woman who was given half a seat on Delta when her neighboring passenger was too large to fit into one seat.
Now you know the fattest states ... but do you know the world's 10 dirtiest cities? Here they are:

Oh, and there are only around 3million people in the entire state, which means that there are VERY rural areas. Do you think a town of 800 people is going to have a Whole Foods? The capital city (Jackson) has 150,000 and they don't even have a whole foods. So, where are you supposed to go and get all these allegedly cheap fruits and vegetables.

Maybe we aren't getting fatter, maybe the airplane seats are getting smaller. I think Washington has the fattest women. Especially Bremerton. Haven't you all heard the Mix-a-lot song?

For everyone who is making EXCUSES for why poor people are obese...
Let's remember that calories are calories. One who eats 2000 calories of cookies a day may not be obese. Will they be healthy? No, they won't, it is much better to eat a balanced diet where the 2000 calories come from eating the proper proportion of all food groups.
But to make excuses and say poor people can't help it, they eat from the dollar menu, ramen noodles, etc. Okay, maybe that's true and that's where they are eating. But just because you're eating off the dollar menu doesn't mean you need to spend $10 on each meal! And if you go to Wendy's, they do have salads and other healthy items on their dollar menus.
But the key is moderation in any diet. So even if it is all mcnuggets and fries, stop eating so many!!! Stop at your daily allowance of calories no matter what food you are eating!!! Yes, you will eat less volume in mcnuggets than carrots to reach 2,000 calories...but there is no excuse if you just stop stuffing your face like you're on Survivor and you're not going to eat for 2 weeks...
