Airline to charge $35 for customer service
These days, airlines are finding more and more ways to charge passengers for things they've long received for free-- headphones, food and drink, a second checked bag. Now you can add decent customer service to that list.
Air Canada began offering a service (ha!) yesterday called "On My Way," in which passengers can pay an extra $25 on shorter flights and $35 on longer flights, and in exchange they will receive "'speedy' access to 'specially-trained' customer service agents who will help rebook flights on Air Canada or other airlines, as well as pay for hotel stays and meals, if necessary."
As someone who occasionally writes about airlines, I am now required by law to mention that the rising cost of jet fuel is to blame for this ill-conceived insult to every passenger's dignity.

my sister had taken a flight from one of the 3 downed airlines and
her luggage was missing 2 days and when she got the luggage back she
was missing a very expensive camera and equipment and the airlines
told her it was tough luck so as far as i'm concerned you get what
you reap

My horrible experience was with Northwest and Princess Lines for using them. Last June on account of their inefficiencey we lost 2 days of our prepaid trip and subsequent costs. It was a terrible start for a long saved for vacation Insurance wouldn't even cover their SNAFU.
It was OK for their CEO who got a handsome severence when they gave him his walking papers.

As a former travel agent, I can say it's definately greed on the airlines part. They no longer pay TA's for tickets and they charge the customer various fees and now this. Look to the corporate bosses!

Who was the genius that came up with this idea? This sounds like a sure-fire way to get your customers upset with you. I imagine that the customer will be unhappy at having to rebook a flight anyway . . . then go ahead and tell them that you're charging them to speak with these "specially-trained customer service agents." That'll really fan the flames. If they really need to raise ticket prices, why don't they just build it into the ticket price. Next they'll start charging you to use the restroom--and double it if you want to go "beyond the curtains" to use the bathroom in the next cabin class. LOL!

i do a great job. as a matter of fact i have lost pay, health benefits, and i would do better at walmart for a retirement program all so that you can fly so cheap.when your company starts giving everything away for free then we can talk. when i go to the grocery store i want free stuff. when i buy a car i want free stuff. nothing is free. look around the price of everything is going up. i also think you should work a customer service job for awhile. then you will see why customer service people are so lazy and mean. most customer service jobs don't pay enough to afford a small apartment. then you think they are suppose to treat you like a king and kiss your huge butt.

i'm driving. the customer service you recieve depends on how you treat the customer service agent. i can tell that you are one of those customers who scream and yell at us. your the costomer who hits us, you are the customer who blames us for everything going wrong in your like. we are only human. if you treat us like crap then you get treated like crap back. i'd like to see you live off of minimum wage.
