Man charged with bomb parts in luggage
In a way, it is good to know that they actually screened those checked bags. I was always skeptical about how many they honestly scanned.
Yesterday, the FBI arrested a 32-year-old Jamaican man because he allegedly tried to board a plane at Orlando International Airport with pipe bomb components and instructions in his checked luggage, Reuters reports. Agents found two galvanized pipes, end caps, two small containers of air gun pellets, batteries, two containers of an unknown liquid, a laptop computer and bomb-making literature.
Bomb-making literature? Is that a part of the "self-help" book genre?

smart enough to make a bomb but stupid enough to get caught with the directions!! THANK GOD!!!

The only thing that really "flags" this guy is the "bomb making literature". the rest - while suspecious - is perfectly legal & could have been picked up in any hardware store. Sounds to me like it could have been a "test run"! Otherwise why bother to carry what could be aquired at low cost just about anywhere? My understanding is that the flight was headed out of the US & the guy claimed that he was just going to show his friends the type of bombs he had seen in Iraq. As I say - either a complete idiot, or some one doing a test run!

I sure hope they don't violate this guy's rights. You know, like torturing him by forcing him to take a shower. Make sure and spend several years and millions of taxpayers dollars protecting him.
I don't have any interest in visiting his country, so keep him the hell out of mine. It only takes one fanatic to kill thousands of us. As far as coming here for "school" goes, stay in your own country where you are teaching your children to hate the "infidels".

Mark, I'm the guy who thanked the president & all the people who try to keep ungrateful assholes like yourself safe with their due diligence. Since I can't locate you through this venue to thank you for calling me a "moron" I guess I'll just use this opportunity to tell you to go fuck yourself you liberal asswipe.. Gee, I sure hope this is considered on topic, I'd feel terribly politically incorrect if it wasn't....

THE MEDIA IS OUR WORST ENEMY !!! I agree with everyone who says how the media gives out so much information that will HELP the terrorists--and then --one morning I actually was listening to 2 anchors talking about 'HOW THE MEDIA GIVES OUT TOO MUCH INFO" right AFTER they gave out all the INFO !!! I was actually YELLING at the tv screen---!!!
They will do ANYTHING for ratings...it will have to take one of THEIR kids being killed for one of them to campaign against this. And what about SCHOOL KILLINGS? They sit there and say THE STUDENTS DO THIS FOR FAME !!! And they are GIVING them the FAME !! When one of THEIR kids gets killed--MAYBE, JUST MAYBE one of them will have the balls to stand up against this type of journalism.

the fbi should have let him on the plane to jamaica and then shot him at the airport in jamaica and left on the same plane back to the states. we just are not stopping these people hard enough. when he gets out of jail or is on bond he will do it again.

Did the media point out that this man was mentally ill and off his medication. He returned from fighting in Iraq with serious psychotic problems and to add to it all his mother was brutally murdered and remains unsolved. We need to take better care of our vets.
He was born in Jamaica but served this country, but no longer resides there, he claimed he was going to blow up a tree stump. If it wasn't for his crazy antics in the airport, he would have boarded that plane. The guy is insane, crazy crazy, he needs to be hospitalized
