Woman said her drink was spiked on flight to Thailand
According to Anamaree Correia, a former flight attendant, three Australian soldiers wanted to have bit of fun with her on a Jetstar flight from Sydney to Phukhet, Thailand. This wasn't the flirting kind of fun that leaves you feeling gloriously giddy. This was the giddy that gets you groggy and passed out. Correia said she was sitting next to a soldier with two others in front of her and they must have spiked her water while she trotted off to the toilet. The weird feeling she had in her head after drinking her water wasn't because of the wine she drank before she drank the water--it was what was in the water.
Whatever was put in the bottle made her pass out and pee on herself, as published in the Herald Sun. Okay, this happened a few days ago, but there hasn't been any more news about it that I found. Correia didn't want to press charges at the time of the incident, but I'm wondering, wouldn't she have gone for a test to find out what was put in the water, if anything? If something was put in my drink, I sure would want to know what it was. Also wouldn't it be good to stop drink spikers?
The article also doesn't say if the soldiers were questioned. We've posted stories about urine troubles on airplanes before. Add this one to the mix as another hard to believe, but stranger true things have happened, type tale.
What strange things have been found on planes?

DJ,
Obviously you have never been drugged by someone you don't know. but speaking as someone who has, let me tell you, it's a terrifying thing. I was at a casino when my drink was spiked. I passed out, peed on myself, and had no memory of what happened to me. I was not drinking heavily, in fact I only had 2 the entire night. Don't judge, it makes you sound like an idiot and a jerk.

I don't understand a word you typed, Mitch. Were you drunk?
Michelle Apr 1st 2008 3:36PM
If you read the story correctly, you would see that she was drinking water. I'm not sure what kind of water you're drinking on your planet, but here on earth, people don't get drunk off of water.

It's not the womans fault at all! Wake up! Guys are fucking desperate assholes. I have been raped and drugged atleast 4x in my life and noone saved me from it. Now I will not leave my house unless accompanied, because the trust in life is lost because of desperate cruel men who need to act like apes. This kind of stuff destroys people. A women is raped every 2 minutes in america alone. It is unreal. And noone really does anything about it- Being drugged feels like exactly like she explains it, it hits you real quick and your out.. and after 12 hours the stuff is undetectable in the body. I did not report mine, because my body has gone into shock sense and my stress response is destroyed in my body. Now everything is a mess because of fuckers in Vegas who thought they could ruin my life- Karma boys!

Then why hasn't she pressed charges and had testing done to see what they "put in" her drink?
Seems if she is so upset, she'd want them prosecuted.

I have seen a man travelling with his sleeping wife put his hand in the pants of a girl who was sleeping next to him without any provocation at all. He thought she'll "like it". Thankfully, she was not drugged and could scream. I have seen many things like this as a flight attendant. The drug victim would not press charges because she doesn't remember what they did to her and most likely the drug is out of your system by the time you regain consciousness and lets face it nothing will happen to the perpetrator(s) in a foreign country or in this country. To what end would anybody make up a story like that? To cover embarrassment that she peed on herself or was drunk? People are not embarrased about being drunk and the only way you find out they peed in their seats is by the wet cushion after they are long gone. Probably, nobody noticed either to begin with so saying you were drugged only made people notice. This woman was not in a dark alley or in a club. This is an epidemic. Look up scopolamine among others - the most scary part is that to others you appear drunk or with scopolamine like you know what you're doing. Soon you'll wonder why you can't get a date. What's the point if in order to be safe you can't relax or even look up from your food and drink? It is the equivalent of saying that you deserved to be mugged and it was your fault because you have money in your wallet. You think you're a guy so you're safe, right? Well, you may wake to find yourself beaten to a pulp and your bank account cleaned out or how about a video on the internet of you being raped by a few guys?

People try to give me Ruffies at StarBucks. The world is sick! And.. I am a man!
Robert Apr 1st 2008 8:21AM
Face it, kiddies, she is an idiot!! She plays around with these three soldiers then gets up and goes to the loo LEAVING HER DRINK UNATENDED and (here is the REALLY moronic part) she returns and actually drinks it!! What an A**WIPE!!
NEVER, under any circumstances or reason does one leave ANYTHING they are eating or drinking unattended in their absence and then return to consume it. Bloody hell!!
Angela Apr 1st 2008 8:35AM
Well,It is sad when you are on a plane sitting next to people dressed up as soldiers who are suppose to go defend our country and for some reason, they just 'Happen to have' a bag of drugs on hand? What kind of weirdo nutcases are we sending over there anyways? Sure does make me wanna start singing 'I'm proud to be an amerian' right now'!NOT!
Kiki Apr 1st 2008 9:09AM
For crying out loud....."Americans are immature," "I won't be singing Proud to Be An American".....they were AUSTRALIAN soldiers, not American soldiers!! Leave America out of it and READ the article!!
Dee Apr 1st 2008 8:37AM
Hey listen Bess,
I dont this its fair to say Americans are
immature.
Only Americans? Go get a life.
lauraaworkman Apr 1st 2008 8:41AM
Yeah im with Robert...Why the hell would you leave your drink, food, what ever around so someone can toy with it while your gone. Then come back and eat and drink it. People are sick in this world and you cant trust strangers.....thats why they are strangers. Who knows maybe she was so damn drunk she pissed herself. Or she took something on her own and tried to blame it on someone else cause she got embarrassed. Its her parents fault. All parents tell there daughters not to leave there drinks when they are out....Freaks man.
John Apr 1st 2008 8:57AM

Oh, yes, the classic, "let's blame the victim mentality" going on here. Holy mideastern of Jewish descent avatar on wooden stick, can you pander anymore to the pataricharical bullshyte of boys will be boys, and the woman should have done more to protect herself. there's dent on my desk from where I have been beating my head on it.
Let's get this straight right the frack now okay? I hate repeating myself, so listen up. THIS incident is not the woman's fault, she has no burden to do anything else regarding this matter. This is a bunch of predators who saw some prey and went after it, knowing that if the prey did complain, or make a fuss, she would be shot again by the "hunters" with their "yeah, but she should have "not been wearing that dress, left her drink drink unattended, hung out with soldiers who are in a magical tree fort where icky girls get picked on, and the lsit goes on.
Do you not get it???!! Are you that stupid to see that these male soldiers are predators? Now, that would be fine if this woman was deer and these soldiers were wolves, but we are not talking animals here. We have evolved from our instinctual animal behaviors we are human beings who treat people not as animals but as humans. And for those so called humans who want to still act in their instinctive predatory nature and say it's the animal in me, in the human world we deal with predators in two ways, we lock them up in cages or we shoot them dead. Pick one.

I can easily tell who will be voting for Hilary and land
under sniper fire, maybe...
mtczajka Apr 1st 2008 10:35AM
Wow! How can you be so sure that they put something in her drink? It's just as possible that she was trying to cover her embarrassment. It's not blaming the victim when there is no proof she was victimized. Sure, she doesn't HAVE to do anything else, but if I thought strangers had slipped something in my drink that made me unconscious, I sure as hell would get toxicology tests at the very least and press charges.

U talk 2 much.........way 2 much
Ron Apr 1st 2008 7:39PM
Michelle,
Maybe you should go back and read the story. She was drinking wine before the water. She has not offered any evidence at all to show that she was a victim. Instead of rushing to judge, maybe you should get the facts.
