Woman said her drink was spiked on flight to Thailand
According to Anamaree Correia, a former flight attendant, three Australian soldiers wanted to have bit of fun with her on a Jetstar flight from Sydney to Phukhet, Thailand. This wasn't the flirting kind of fun that leaves you feeling gloriously giddy. This was the giddy that gets you groggy and passed out. Correia said she was sitting next to a soldier with two others in front of her and they must have spiked her water while she trotted off to the toilet. The weird feeling she had in her head after drinking her water wasn't because of the wine she drank before she drank the water--it was what was in the water.
Whatever was put in the bottle made her pass out and pee on herself, as published in the Herald Sun. Okay, this happened a few days ago, but there hasn't been any more news about it that I found. Correia didn't want to press charges at the time of the incident, but I'm wondering, wouldn't she have gone for a test to find out what was put in the water, if anything? If something was put in my drink, I sure would want to know what it was. Also wouldn't it be good to stop drink spikers?
The article also doesn't say if the soldiers were questioned. We've posted stories about urine troubles on airplanes before. Add this one to the mix as another hard to believe, but stranger true things have happened, type tale.
What strange things have been found on planes?

DJ,
Obviously you have never been drugged by someone you don't know. but speaking as someone who has, let me tell you, it's a terrifying thing. I was at a casino when my drink was spiked. I passed out, peed on myself, and had no memory of what happened to me. I was not drinking heavily, in fact I only had 2 the entire night. Don't judge, it makes you sound like an idiot and a jerk.

I don't understand a word you typed, Mitch. Were you drunk?
Michelle Apr 1st 2008 3:36PM
If you read the story correctly, you would see that she was drinking water. I'm not sure what kind of water you're drinking on your planet, but here on earth, people don't get drunk off of water.

It's not the womans fault at all! Wake up! Guys are fucking desperate assholes. I have been raped and drugged atleast 4x in my life and noone saved me from it. Now I will not leave my house unless accompanied, because the trust in life is lost because of desperate cruel men who need to act like apes. This kind of stuff destroys people. A women is raped every 2 minutes in america alone. It is unreal. And noone really does anything about it- Being drugged feels like exactly like she explains it, it hits you real quick and your out.. and after 12 hours the stuff is undetectable in the body. I did not report mine, because my body has gone into shock sense and my stress response is destroyed in my body. Now everything is a mess because of fuckers in Vegas who thought they could ruin my life- Karma boys!

Then why hasn't she pressed charges and had testing done to see what they "put in" her drink?
Seems if she is so upset, she'd want them prosecuted.

I have seen a man travelling with his sleeping wife put his hand in the pants of a girl who was sleeping next to him without any provocation at all. He thought she'll "like it". Thankfully, she was not drugged and could scream. I have seen many things like this as a flight attendant. The drug victim would not press charges because she doesn't remember what they did to her and most likely the drug is out of your system by the time you regain consciousness and lets face it nothing will happen to the perpetrator(s) in a foreign country or in this country. To what end would anybody make up a story like that? To cover embarrassment that she peed on herself or was drunk? People are not embarrased about being drunk and the only way you find out they peed in their seats is by the wet cushion after they are long gone. Probably, nobody noticed either to begin with so saying you were drugged only made people notice. This woman was not in a dark alley or in a club. This is an epidemic. Look up scopolamine among others - the most scary part is that to others you appear drunk or with scopolamine like you know what you're doing. Soon you'll wonder why you can't get a date. What's the point if in order to be safe you can't relax or even look up from your food and drink? It is the equivalent of saying that you deserved to be mugged and it was your fault because you have money in your wallet. You think you're a guy so you're safe, right? Well, you may wake to find yourself beaten to a pulp and your bank account cleaned out or how about a video on the internet of you being raped by a few guys?

People try to give me Ruffies at StarBucks. The world is sick! And.. I am a man!
Robert Apr 1st 2008 8:21AM
Face it, kiddies, she is an idiot!! She plays around with these three soldiers then gets up and goes to the loo LEAVING HER DRINK UNATENDED and (here is the REALLY moronic part) she returns and actually drinks it!! What an A**WIPE!!
NEVER, under any circumstances or reason does one leave ANYTHING they are eating or drinking unattended in their absence and then return to consume it. Bloody hell!!
Bess Apr 1st 2008 4:04PM
Americans are just very immature people. I am sure they thought they were just "having fun." What sick behavior. I am stunned to think someone should be wary of leaving food unattended, much less eating it upon return. What has this country come to. These soldiers are sick sociopaths and have no respect for human life.
Vikki C. Apr 1st 2008 8:35AM
Uhhh.. Bess? You need to re-read the article. The soldiers were AUSTRALIAN, not American.
Ronaldo Apr 1st 2008 9:20AM
Bess....the soldiers were AUSTRALIAN, not AMERICAN.
Reader Apr 1st 2008 9:37AM
The soldiers were Australians, not Americans. Read the story before making judgemental comments, please.
liz Apr 1st 2008 9:58AM
read the storiy, it said australian soliders, not americans... if it was americans, we wouldnt of wasted our drugs on anyone but ourselves.
Shell Apr 1st 2008 10:53AM
Speaking of immature people, sociopath's and no respect.... isn't it funny how people are SO quick to jump on Americans? Let's totally disregard the facts STATED in the article... what a moron!
Ashley Apr 1st 2008 11:05AM
You a**hole. They were Austrailian.
Americans aren't stupid enough to give away their drugs to someone else. We keep that Sh*t for ourselves ;)
debisis Apr 1st 2008 12:55PM
You did not just say that Americans are immature? I don't believe you know what you're talking about, especially when you're talking about 300 million people. If American's were immature as you like to generalize, then there probably would not be 300 million of us and give or take 2-5 million of you.
Btw, she should have sued no doubt. She probably is the kind of person that did not want to stir up a lot of trouble until she actually thought more about it. Poor woman. Those guys are just immature, losers who probably don't have girl friends, they just happen to be American.
Proud to be an American Apr 1st 2008 1:17PM
Bess this was a flight to Thailand. And the soldiers were Australian. This had nothing to do with Americans. Just because you might live in a crappy neighborhood doesn't mean all Americans are like the ones you live next to. Its this kind of bigotry and disregard of facts that makes so many people hate this country. You won't find a single thing that all 300 million of us share, besides the fact that we are all American. So how can you stereotype that many people like that? You should be ashamed of yourself.
Pindragon Apr 1st 2008 3:36PM
They were Australian sholders, not American. Yhe flight originated from Sidney. It never mentioned any one being American. Get your facts straights.
