hey i just want to say i think your blog is grrreat. also i have a question when you fly to other countries do the atc speak english or do have to speak the language of the country you are flying to?

Great question. ATC is supposed to be English only throughout the world, but in reality, controllers in foreign countries almost exclusively talk to their national airlines in their native language. This can make it difficult for other airlines to get a good situational awareness regarding what's taking place.
The controllers speak English to all the other airlines, however. This is the case in Europe and Central and South America. I can't vouch for Asia, though.
