Travel Alert! $50 off Expedia coupon code
[Edit -- this deal has expired! Congrats to those who got in!]Tooling around for hotels in Japan (I still haven't found anything, Firestone) this morning, I stumbled upon a mistake discount code good for Expedia.com
Code ELITEPLUS50 takes 50$ off per night for what appears to be any hotel room in the database over 50$. I've been pandering around all morning pricing out various rooms over various periods. For starters, my girlfriend is leaving town early Monday morning next week, so I booked a hotel room for under 10$ near the airport so we can wake up as late as possible.
Hotels in Chicago, Tokyo and everywhere else I looked seem to work as well.
It crossed my mind that I could enroll in one of those hotel rewards jobbers and try too book a month straight of 4$ hotel rooms. Show up the first day, get the key and let the points roll in. After a month or so, show back up and check out.
But I suppose that would be unethical, wouldn't it?
So if you do make use of this coupon code, try to keep it under control. I have a feeling once Expedia gets around to finding out their error that the code won't last more than a couple of hours anyway. Happy booking.

Weird, I can't seem to find the location to enter a coupon code on the Expedia site.
Anyone know?

Search for the hotel, then after you find the one you want and click "Book It!", it takes you to a page showing price, etc. There is some small text right below the total room cost that says "I have a coupon." Click that and it'll let you enter the coupon. Not sure if it'll work or not, but thats how you do it.

This is great! It's only good for bookings thru April 30, however.

And it won´t work on any other Expedia site, by the way, or in a different currency. But...well spotted!

found this the other day too on retailmenot.com and it did work...only problem, it wouldn't let me use it a 2nd time, even when I signed my husband up and used a new login/email/credit card!! they charged me the full amount...but at least we got a 3 night stay for $50 off each night the first time around.

Yep, I found the price/date requirements.
Between March 31st and April 30th
Nightly Rate above $50
Must be a Expedia Pick(orange price bar, instead of grey)

Just tried to use it and Expedia is saying it's no longer valid. I emailed them as this is bogus. They need to stand behind their offer as it falls within the terms and conditions of the offer.

Post back if you get a response, we tried to use it as well and were very disappointed by the invalid coupon message we received! I think technically it was only for Elite Expedia members so that's probably how they'll explain turning it off for everyone else.

I just tried it too and it says its invalid...ahh well.

I called up and fibbed. to the good people at expedia.com they were sooooooooooooooooo nice!!!!!
Ok yea Im sure the pearly gates will forgive me for this, lol. Anyways, I told them I had received a email regarding this coupon code and it said that it was good thru April 30. The very nice lady @ expedia gave me a 50 dollar credit for the inconvienance I gave her my log in and 15 minutes to update thier system and wa la! My coupon was there and so was the 50 bucks!!!!!! By the way if your going to use Expedia (gosh I love them now!) Hurry and add this other coupon to your itienerary..... WELCOMEBACK03
It is good for 10 bucks off a night on any hotel stay. I asked if you could use both, lol but sadly they said no...:( Oh just a quick tip when searching on expedia and you go to the booking screen, that is where you add the code then hit reprice and then apply coupon. You dont have to book or add credit card at this point just save the itenerary and the price will be saved whether you use it or not) Take care!!!!!!!!!
