Ever seen someone sleep on a plane like this?

I've been a fan of Tynan from betterthanyourboyfriend.com for some time now, and when he recently launched a new blog dedicated to his world travels, Life Nomadic, I knew I'd have to cover it on Gadling someday. Well, that day is today. Tynan snapped the picture above on a flight from L.A. to Tokyo. It actually doesn't look too uncomfortable.

I can totally see my brother doing that... I sometimes do that on my desk chair when I'm lazy to get up and walk to my bed for a short nap as well

btw, i'll be on an LA-Tokyo flight soon... maybe I'll have to bring kneepads and a 3 oz bottle of febreeze

It would be interesting to hear what a chiropractor or physical therapist thinks about this position for sleeping. Like ......is there any research ....on sleeping positions .......???

Yep - I saw a young woman sleep like that (in the middle seat of a 5-seat row) on a flight from Hawaii to Dallas a few years back. Oddly enough, she was an off-duty flight attendant!

Never on a plane, no. But I have seen a few people passed out like that under a booth in a bar... (Over-served? Never!)

Honestly, I'd be willing to try just about anything to get a few hours rest on a long flight. I'm small, but I still get cramped up trying to find a good snoozing position. It looks a little more comfortable than your head on the tray table, at least. :)
