If we all keep flying just like we do now and having more than two children per couple then the future is certainly bleak. On the other hand, if the idea spreads that frivolous air-travel is truly and deeply unethical, then perhaps the associated decline in bookings WILL lead to fewer planes leaving the ground over time. Shrinking our collective carbon footprint is indeed our only hope at a future as one species among well more then 10 million others.
