Which presidential candidate would you most want to travel with?
A new poll asks the all-important question: Which of the presidential candidates would you most want to travel with? The results show Barack Obama in the lead with 44%, with voters claiming that he'd be a "cool guy to hang out with" and that he would be most likely to get discounts at hotels and restaurants. I confess to not knowing why exactly that would be the case.
Hillary Clinton trails Obama with 23%, and John McCain garnered 14% of the votes. McCain, at least one voter noted, would probably have some great stories to share. Or a joke!
Personally, I wouldn't mind traveling around the world with erstwhile candidate Mike Gravel, who could instruct me on the finer points of how to make a sweet rap video.
The poll also asks which candidate you'd least like to sit next to on an airplane, which one needs a vacation the most, and which one looks best in a bathing suit. As you can see from the picture above, it's obviously Obama-- and I say that with, to quote Seinfeld, an "unblemished record of staunch heterosexuality."
How about you? Which presidential candidate (past or present) would you most like to travel with?

I have to say, I'm surprised people aren't branching out a little bit more as far as Presidents go. We've got H. Clinton, B. Clinton, Obama, Obama, Obama....McCain and some write ins. I have to say, I hope that the writer of this article didn't mean people that were still alive, because I'm going to have to go with my favorite president: good old Honest Abe.
I have admired Abraham Lincoln for a very long time, ever since we studied the Civil War in school; I'm actually quite surprised that no one else chose him. I would love to talk to him about all that he has been through, and how he found the strength to persevere through the many hard times that he went through -- the Copperheads, assassination threats, rebellion and of course huge casualties due to an unfortunate civil war that he was forced to mediate. How did he find the strength to go on when it felt like no one else believed that the war would end, or that we were supposed to be "One Nation, Under God"(not two)?
When I think of all of the luxuries that we are able to take advantage of thanks to that wonderful president: the first transcontinental railroad, an American currency and national banking system, and of course the Emancipation Proclamation (the beginning of freeing the slaves in America!!!) I think I would just like to bask in his amazing-ness (pardon the wordage). He also seems as though he would be quite the comforting presence, like a father figure with his kindness and wisdom: after all, his nickname was "Father Abraham".
Despite all that as well, I would like to congratulate him for all that he has done to shape the great country that we live in today. You all might hate it, you all might complain about it, but for the women reading this -- at least you don't have to wear veils that cover everything but your eyes, at least you can choose your job, and at least we are in a country where although there may be economic troubles and hard times, we are still a free country, where ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL. It sickens me the way some of you disrespectful and ungrateful people can sit and type on your computers about the many discrepancies of the previous leaders of our great country...yet, if you were in their situation...what would you do? I certainly know that if I were in Abraham Lincoln's situation, I would cry -- and I would not be as level headed as he was.
Each President, though out the many crisis that they are faced with, will look each predicament in the face and make a decision that they hope is the right one. If they are wrong, then that is a mistake: I make them, you make them, we all make them. The only difference is when YOU make them there isn't millions of Americans impacted by it. Imagine that pressure. Imagine that responsibility. The majority if not all of you would crumble under it within a week. So don't go around talking high and mighty as though you would be the answer to America's prayers: you, 99% of the time, will not be. Its very easy to sit on a computer and bash a President, but very hard to perform that job yourself.
