This time, a passenger struck a flight attendant
Just last week, we wrote about a pilot whose mental breakdown caused an emergency landing.
Now, AP reports that a flight from New York to Paris was diverted to Boston last night because a French passenger "struck a flight attendant." Why? We don't know. Nonetheless, the American Airlines flight landed safely after 8 p.m. Wednesday night at Logan Airport. The "attacker" was taken into custody.
Is it the cabin pressure that makes people go crazy?
###A commercial airplane with a king size bed? I wonder how much that costs...

YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL...you are--> THE PUBLIC !!!
I do believe the people making such incredibly stupid comments have never had to work AND TRY to please the public ( aka mostly village idiots ) ..I am not an airline employee but I TRULY feel bad for them in dealing with such awful people on a daily basis...its no wonder IF they have learned to be rude...ITS NECESSARY !!

Every person that enters a Customer Service Industry has the opportunity to deal with a nasty customer. Every customer that has to face someone in the Service Industry has dealt with rude service. It's not a reason or excuse to learn to be rude, annoying or to lower your standards of service.

So the passenger hit a flight attendant . And the flight landed in Boston . I live near Boston . Welcome . The Mass State Police will be removing this passenger from the jet like a rolled up carpet . And when this moron is doing time in prison here , there will be far more challenging opponets to hit then a women working on a jet . Enjoy your stay with us .

After reading a lot of these ignorant, rude and low class comments, I now have a better understanding as to why most of the world now hates Americans and how the Village Idiot got elected twice into the White House.

I am not a flight attendent but respect their positon. Flight attendents are more than a pretty (or hansom) caterer. They undergo rigerous training every year and must pass safety testing by 100%. Hopefully you never have to judge them on their emergency preparedness.
There is never a reason to be rude or disruptive to another person under any circumstance. If someone is rude to you, be an adult about it and complain through proper channels.

There is no excuse for ever hitting a flight attendant.
However, I totally agree with the notion that the way flight attendants treat passengers has dramatically changed, especially in the last 5 years. I am a platinum medallion flier with Delta, flying oversees with Delta and their partners frequently. American flight attendants are by and large rude, overweight (in some cases barely able to fit through the aisles! talk about a safety risk!), and slovenly. Does anyone actually think that these flight attendants could help in an evacuation of the plane??? No more "excuse me sir" or "please" or "thank you". This is drastically different than the Aisan carriers in which the flight attendants actually care about their appearance and seek to treat the passengers with some degree of respect. If I could fly the Asian airlines all of the time I would.

Without defending people who hit f/a or people who think the rules don't apply to them because there is no defense for that...
let's face it, passengers are more likely to be more sensitive to what they feel is lousy customer server from F/A because the product they just bought costs more than the average purchase. So they expect a little more effort in providing a minimum level of customer service.
I've dealt with some good f/a as well as some bad f/a but let's be honest here...no one truly expects a f/a to thwart a terrorist hijacking on board unless of course the terrorist has an addiction to those little peanut bags so you can lose the "our security training" bs.

OMG! You guys sound like my kids. Grow up. How about a little common sense and courtesy. It's no wonder I have to carry a gun with me when ever I fly passengers like you around this beautiful nation of ours. It's not for terrorists, it's for crazed, irrational passengers. Man...
jsarangel Feb 10th 2008 12:37PM
Pilots with guns? bad idea! These guys are not airborne rangers. More likely to get himself and his passengers killed. Leave the guns to experienced professionals. Not taxi cab drivers.

We've lost more civility towards others in the past several years than an any prior historical period. Most people in the service industries as well as the general public (customers) lack what used to be common courtesy toward the people the encounter on a day-to-day basis. I guess human's really do learn by example....
Media, government, etc. etc. What a sorry period for mankind.

Life has never been perfect and everyone has options. If you can't comply with the rules of the airline company, or the possibility of delays...don't fly! If you don't like passengers who insist on being supervised...get into a different line of work! Whining about it doesn't accomplish anything.

WHEN did it become the victim's fault when someone uses violence on them? Ever heard of self-control? We are seeing the tip of the iceberg here because we are now living in a world of spoiled rotten adults (who were given everything in childhood. Never taught self-control, respect for others, patience, etc.) These ego-maniac adults believe they have the RIGHT to hit anyone if they are inconvenienced in any way, or asked to follow rules that they don't want to follow, or just generally don't get their way.
Expect more of this because it is the result of a very liberal upbringing where parents would not use the word "no" on their children for fear of bruising their little psyches.
