Every Friday evening, some time before most people have clocked out of work and begin heading home for the weekend, a plane takes off from LAX. Like so many other flights at this time, this one is also heading to Las Vegas. It's not full of gamblers, however, but rather a disproportionate amount of silicone that bounces and jiggles through the warm, desert-air turbulence all the way to Vegas where, for the remainder of Friday and Saturday night, it will continue quivering away at $20 a pop.
This, folks, is the Southwest Stripper Plane.
The passengers are LA's greatest temporary export, heading off for a weekend of singles and 20s to help baby pay the rent. They are blessed with the sun-kissed glory of Southern California and enhanced by the world's greatest plastic surgeons, and of course every single one is a struggling teacher, college student, or some other admirable profession that will keep suckers reaching into their wallet time after time to help out their worthy cause, whatever it might be.
No one really knows what time this legendary, perhaps even mythical flight leaves Los Angeles. Seats are reserved months in advance and few mere mortals are able to secure a reservation. A friend of mine claims he once found himself on this flight but can't seem to remember the details, as though some powerful force scrubbed his brain clean, leaving only a trace of glitter on his sweaty forehead.
Others less fortunate can only dream that the planets align one day and that they find themselves sitting on a plane in Los Angeles watching their fellow passengers squeeze their gigantic moneymakers into Southwest's cramped economy seats. If there was ever a time for long delays or a casualty-free crash on a desert island, this would certainly be it.

Those girls better be saving their duckies -- if they are they'll probably have a better future than most of us -- if not, I hope they have true love to keep them warm in the end -- aging can be harsh with no kids/family.

This is no myth. L.A. and Burbank flight to Vegas on Friday night. The flights are filled with "working" girls and "working" boys. The are all done up and gorgeous. But you should see them on Monday morning when they are returning home. They wear huge sun glasses and usually just fall asleep as soon as they sit down.

Hate to burst your bubble guys but most strippers are lesbians. Those butch woman with them are their girlfriends. Just because their stripping for guys don't mean their interested in guys. They just know they can get your money, your all gullible. They go home to their girlfriends at the end of the night and have sex with them.

When will the IRS catch up with these women?!? Between them and illegal immigrants(which many of them are) every tax paying person is picking up the slack.A small percentage might pay taxes while most do not.So for those of you who endorse this-stop talking out of both sides of your mouth.I'm sure many of you are against illegal immigration and tax evaders-wisen up!

YES!! it does exist...and I LOVED IT!! flight out of Burbank at 830pm, remember, the REAL NIGHT STARTS AT 10PM in vegas, and its only a 40 minute flight from LA TO VEGAS!! and they are gorgeous...lol

I don't care what people do with their time and money, but aren't there any laws here? If so, how is an airline able to legally provide an Illegal service and why is the airline getting away with this?

Sharon, I replied to your comment in Parentdish. Just wanted to let you know that I was making a point about abortion. You helped me make it when you asked how I'd feel if there was a law that allowed people with blue eyes to be killed. In the USA, we have a law that allows a certain class of people to be killed if they are deemed inconvenient or damaged.
There are plenty of people out there who actually believe that what I wrote is the way things ought to be. I'm not one of them.

I'm curious as to how much the airlines paid the author of the story, I can't believe it is anything compared to all the money they,(the airlines), are going to make off of all the men who will be buying tickets, with hopes and fantasies of being fortunate enough to have booked a ticket on the "stripper plane".

This is no myth...most of the Friday mid-day and afternoon flights from LAX, SNA and BUR are lousy with them.
Note however, that not all of them are strippers and it's not just Southwest. In fact, Jet Blue's getting a lot of "ladies" flying out of Long Beach. ("They have TV!")
Some are just trashy SoCal party girls, while others are engaged in much older profession.
