Your departure from New York to Cleveland, one point stands out. You stated that you asked the Gate agent to print your ticket, and as a result, made your flight.
I fly into and out of LaG 10 to 15 times per year, and I don't think you could make it through TSA to a Gate agent without your boarding pass. If you meant you asked the Ticket agent to print your boarding pass, and made it through TSA and to your gate you're a better woman than I am.
I also agree with Tom, that having to wait for people who show at the last minute is frustrating when I too arrive on time, or early 98% of the time. I fly about 120K miles per year.
