After commenting on the "which place would I never go back to post", I thought I'd post it here too...
When we first got married, we didn't have much money, and so wanted to get the most value out of our traveling. One day I saw a deal to Moorea, and I thought, "wow, Tahiti! that sounds exotic"! So off we went and stayed at a time share there.
Well it rained ALL WEEK LONG! Not just a little bit, not just for a short amount of time, but HARD and ALL THE TIME! And there's nothing to do on the island anyway, except snorkel, which we couldn't do because the water was so murky from the rain. There weren't any real shops on the island, no movie theaters, TV in our room - nothing that you could go inside and entertain yourself. So we read, and did a lot of other things that newly married couples do to entertain themselves.
And the food was all expensive, french food. It was good, but not very reasonable in price, and every day it was pretty much the same thing.
By far our worst trip ever...
