Having just gotten back I can relate- the 5 euro cab ride is now $8.00, the 8.00 Prado ticket is now $12.00 it all adds up. I found myself trimming a lot of fat, walking from train stations with my bags, deciding to not pop into that 2.0 euro admission attraction, not to buy the 5 euro guide, ect. Over all I spent less money than when I went in 2004 - by looking for cheaper hotels, and investigating the best credit card to use. So on the upside if you really economize you can minimize the effect of the weak dollar.
